Graduate Software Engineer

SunDrive has quickly grown from a UNSW PhD project in a garage to producing the world’s most efficient commercial-sized solar cells.
As our newest graduate software engineer, you will be integral to the development and implementation of the software used in the automation of the production tools used in the Sundrive production processes. This will be critical in ensuring that Sundrive can meet its production goals. The role will primarily involve developing software-based systems to control automated processes. You will have ownership over projects and will have the opportunity to grow and learn with the team.
You will focus on:
- Developing software to coordinate and control the various mechanical and electrical components of our mechatronic system
- Conducting test and simulations to ensure that the automated system fucntions correctly
- Researching and providing recommendations on tools and platforms for process data storage and analysis
- Collaborating with the wider engineering team to design and build complex systems that are fit for purpose whilst analysing and troubleshooting current system problems
- Implementing new technologies that will enhance the capabilities of the automation team
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Software or Electrical or another relevant area of study
- Strong knowledge of computer science and programming core fundamentals, including experience with C++ ,linux, SBC’s,Git & Docker
- Knowledge and experience with working on databases both locally and in the cloud and with establishing and maintaining cloud based services
- Experience working with integrating hardware with software and understanding of modern web development, both front and backend
- Some fundamental electrical/electronics knowledge and experience is beneficial but not a necessity
